How to set up your water dispenser

STEP ONE
Wash the dispenser
Hand-wash* the dispenser, lid and reservoir with mild dish soap and rinse well.
* Do not wash dispenser in dishwasher. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

STEP TWO
Rinse the filter
With clean hands, rinse the filter with cold water for 15 seconds.

STEP THREE
Insert the filter
With clean hands, line up the filter’s groove with the notch in the reservoir and press the filter firmly into place.

STEP FOUR
Set replacement reminder
If your Brita has an electronic filter indicator, press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds to activate it. If it comes with a sticker indicator, adjust the date so you’ll know when it’s time for a new filter (every 2 months for a Standard Filter).

STEP FIVE
Fill it up
Open the flip lid and fill the reservoir with cold tap water*. Discard the first dispenser of water, or use to water plants. Please note that the system indicator will only count a reservoir fill if the lid is open for at least 15 seconds.
*Hot water shouldn’t be used with the Brita® Refillable Filter (Max. 85°F/29°C – Min. 32°F/0°C).
